This is an obscurely placed Elevation sign, so it is best to go through the Scenic World lower floor where you can buy your tickets to go on various rides, and buy your appropriate souvenirs, then take the stairs (or elevator if wheelchair bound) to the upper level where there is a cafe and viewing deck.
Go to the southern side, where you be looking towards Mount Solitary. There are binoculars available for even better views. Then look back towards the working pulleys and cables of the Cableway, and, 'lo and behold' there is a distinctive plaque placed by Doppelmayr, of Thun, Switzerland, stating,
"ELEV. 955m Tramways".
Please, while a PHOTO is NEEDED to prove you found this Elevation Sign, do NOT be distracted, but take MANY photos of the great scenery - if a nice day!
