The Archibald Knox, or 'Archie's as it is known, was built to replace the Nursey Hotel. It was named after the famous Manx artist and designer who was born in Cronkbourne Village in 1864. Costing £400,000, it opened its doors on 14th January 1988.
Archie's is loacted near the village's shopping precinct and is conveniently placed for the modern housing estates which have been built in the village in recent years.
The large space premises are matched in the summer months by the large patio and beer garden which are ideally place for the afternoon and evening sunshine.
Camra's What?ub website describes the Pub as follows:
"The Archibald Knox is a busy vibrant family pub with a great reputation for serving good home cooked and locally food" and "The staff are extremely friendly and approachable and there's a great atmosphere throughout the clearly defined bar and lounge areas."
Having visited the Pub on many occassion I would strongly endorse the remarks made above. Archie's is well worth a visit.
