With a large and high shade-cloth roof, and child-resistant fencing this has been well thought out by the Karoonda Development Group.
More than a dozen groups had a hand in supporting this project in upgrading the earlier RSL Playground. This was completed on 27th September, 2009.
Below a small tower are a couple of steering wheels with respective dashboards for budding drivers. To climb above these, there are two options; to climb up a pole that has small, round, blue, plastic steps to an open platform, or, climb up some large plastic rings (as steps), or climb through the middle of a couple of plastic rings to a set of hand rails and the platform.
Once on the platform there is cable 'tight-rope' bridge to cross down to another platform where there are bulky plastic steps down to the 'soft-fall' surface on one side, or a cargo net on the other side.
The cargo net leads up to the platform of a bumpy plastic slippery dip. There is also a hexagonal designed plastic ramp to the slippery dip as an alternative.
There are a couple of plastic 'car tyres' suspended about a metre off the ground to test the dexterity and persistence of budding gymnasts. A low platform allows even smaller children to enjoy this particular challenge.
A couple swings, with rubber seats are behind the rest of the equipment.
Four chained round plastic seats/steps are an alternative the old style 'monkey bar' to get from one section to another.
Five yellow triangles lead out another direction as a junior version of monkey bars.
A spring mounted single-seat in a dogs shape is good for checking your 'core-strength'.
Another 'core-testing' device is a spinning bi-curved pole with handles.
To toughen up the hands there is an 'A-framed' aluminium sandwich board with plastic chain hanging either side to see if you can get over a 1.5 metre high obstacle.
Instead of a see-saw there is a pair of nose-to-nose and connected horses on industrial springs for a rocking good time.
With nearby toilets and covered picnic tables this is a good place for travellers to stop for a break.
