This two-story red brick building is located at 200 N Rush. The entry is a circular arch with a single metal and glass door. There are glass windows left, right, and above the door filling the arch. There are two plaques to the left of the entry - one is the date plaque and the other is a history of the Bank and area. A turret like structure is to the right of the entryway.

Text of the marker:

The First National Bank of Berryville
-------------------------

It is the former location of Hammerschmidt Lumber Co. and the First
National Bank. It is now home of the Harrison flood of May 1961 mural
(located inside) hand painted by Louis Fruend. This historic event
commanded both national and international news coverage and completely
demolished all of the structures near Crooked Creek and either destroyed or
did significant damage to 80% of the buildings around the square. The Army
Corps of Engineers labeled it a 100 year flood and estimated losses in excess
of $5.4 million (in 1961 dollars). It was the worst catastrophe in the town's
history and eventually led to the Lake Harrison recreation project.
