Errichtet zum 125 - jährigen Bestehens des VERSCHÖNERUNGSVEREINESKLOSTERNEUBURG 1884 - 2009
Segnung und Inbetriebnahme am Donnerstag,

Aus Anlass des 125 - jährigen Bestehens beschloss der Vorstand in seiner Sitzung vom 9. Februar 2009 ein Kunstwerk zu stiften und dieses der Klosterneuburger Bevölkerung zu widmen. Nach Anbotseinholung bei Klosterneuburger Künstlern erteilte der Verschönerungsverein dem Bildenden Künstler Herrn Michael Riegner den Auftrag einen Trinkbrunnen mit dem Relief des Heiligen Martin von Tours zu gestalten. Den Heiligen Martin deshalb, da der aus Wachauer Marmor bestehende Brunnen an der Grenze des Pfarrgebietes der Kirche St. Martin - der ältesten Kirche von Klosterneuburg errichtet wurde.

Built to the 125th anniversary of the VERSCHÖNERUNGSVEREIN (beautification association) KLOSTERNEUBURG 1884 - 2009

On the occasion of the 125th anniversary, the Board decided to create a work of art at its meeting on February 9, 2009, devoting it to the population of Klosterneuburg. After bid solicitations from Klosterneuburg artists, the Beautification Association awarded the sculptor Michael Riegner the task of designing a drinking fountain with the relief of Saint Martin of Tours. Saint Martin, since the well made of Wachau marble was built on the border of the parish church of St. Martin - the oldest church of Klosterneuburg.
