The fire hall in Meaford was built in 1887 at a cost of $2,500. As newer and better equipment came on line, the building came with taller, more slender doors, and a large tower in which hose could be dried after use. In 1908 the tower was modified to include a bell tower.

The hall remained in service from 1887 until the Town sold the building in 2009. It received local Heritage Property designation in 1991.

Since then, the hall has sat empty. Plans were announced in 2013 to convert the building into an upscale restaurant, but construction has yet to begin.

The fire hall is located at 26 Nelson Streeet, next tio the Meaford Hall.
