The bench is located at Cheddleton Flint Mill and commemorates George Edwards the last potters miller.
This is a double seated wooden bench with the inscription carved into the wood on the back of each bench.
The inscription reads as follows;
(facing the mill) - IN MEMORY OF GEORGE EDWARDS
(facing the canal)- CHEDDLETON'S LAST POTTERS MILLER
Cheddleton Mill was owned by J. & G. Meakin, Potters, of Hanley from 1856-1903. The mill was sold in 1903 to George Edwards & Son, who ran the mill until it closed in 1963 and it was then sold to the Trust in 1967.
