The church is dedicated to Archangel Michael, who stands as a great bronze statue over the main portal and is presented as the victor in the battle over Satan. The church building is located in the southern Neustadt between Ludwig-Erhard-Straße, Krayenkamp and English Plank. The church tower has a height of 132.14 meters. Today's building is a reconstruction of 1912, which was necessary after a heavy fire in 1906. "
