"Gopherus Agassizii", or more commonly the Desert Tortoise, is one of three pieces on display inside the main Concourse D area of Terminal 1 at Harry Reid.
Sculpted by renowned Las Vegas artist David L Phelps, this is one of three pieces that collectively make up the Desert wildlife series. The other pieces, located nearby, include a Desert Horned Lizard and a Rattlesnake.
The piece was completed in 1999 and is on permanent display.
