This Quartz boulder is diplayed by the side of Mines Road close to the Miners Memorial Statue.
Smaller Quartz rocks are quite common on the Island but this is an exceptionally large block.
Quartz is also known as 'Manx Spar' and its use to decorate the tops of walls and gateposts is widespread on the Island.
