[F] Construit au XVIIème siècle ce colombier cylindrique de 6 mètres de diamètre fut transformé par la suite en magnanerie, c'est à dire un lieu pour l'élevage des vers à soie (bombyx du mûrier). En effet, dès la fin du Moyen âge, on tentera de développer en France la sériculture. Cela sera notamment le cas dans la "Vallée de la Loire qui sera la région de prédilection des Rois de France et de leur cours, grands amateurs de soieries.
L'ancien pigeonnier ne comporte pas d'autre ouverture qu'une porte de bois. Il s'élève sur deux étages et est recouvert d'un toit plat incliné.
Le plus amusant c'est qu'il y a toujours des pigeons sur son toit !

[E] Built in the 17th century, this 6m diameter cylindrical dovecote was later transformed into a magnanerie, that is to say a place for silkworm rearing (mulberry bombyx). Indeed, from the end of the Middle Ages, we tried to develop sericulture in France. The old dovecote has no other opening than a wooden door. It rises on two floors and is covered with a sloping flat roof.
The most amusing thing is that there are always pigeons on his roof!
