This artwork depicts elements of the Coast Salish
mythic story "Snoqual (Moon) the Transformer."

This story tells of a powerful being who travelled
the world, transforming everything and preparing it
for the people to come.

artist and Story Teller Roger Fernandes is a member of the
Lower Elwha Band of the Kiallam Indians from the
Port Angeles area of Washington.

Commissioned with Seattle Department of Transportation
1% for Art Funds Administered by the Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs
City of Seattle, Michael McCinn, Mayor
