The bronze VE Day plaque stands on a steel shaft like a small lectern toward one end of the planter. Near the opposite end, twelve or fifteen feet away, is an elongated boulder standing on end and bearing another bronze plaque, inscribed simply "LEST WE FORGET". Both were placed by Salmon Arm Legion Branch No. 62 on May 8th, 1995, exactly after the celebration of victory in the European theatre of World War II.
Text from each plaque follows.
