These wakeboard facilities are provided by the Salford Community Sport in Salford Quays, a regenerated area in what was the former Manchester Docks.

"Salford Wakepark caters for all standards of wakeboarder - from complete beginners looking to get up on the board for the first time, to experienced riders who are looking to perfect their big air tricks on our obstacles.

There are lots of options available to get you out riding:

Beginner lessons and courses are available meaning you can learn everything from scratch

Block ride passes and memberships - offer great value and reduced prices for regular riders

Board and equipment hire, so you dont need any equipment Free wetsuit, bouyancy aid and helmet hire

Group sessions and private hire of the cable is available Get yourself down here and come and see what it is all about!

Cost for a standard wakeboard session:

Adults £21 - board hire £5.50 (Duo session £32 - two sessions on the same day)

Juniors £16 - board hire £2.50

A session will be 1 hour shared between upto 4 people giving you between 15 and 30 minutes on the water (Note, if you are the only person booked onto a session, the session will run for 30 minutes).

Please arrive in plenty of time so you are ready to go out on the cable when it is your turn. (eg if you are booked in for a 11.00am session, arrive at 10.30am to get signed in, changed and to meet your operator)

Please note - If you have never been Wakeboarding before or it was a long time ago, then you must book onto a beginner lesson. This will teach you the basics and you will get riding the full length of the cable much quicker and with the correct technique, than if you just try to do it without a lesson." link

Salford Community sport provides a large number of facilities for sport, both water sports and dry sports.

The water based activities at Salford Quays are run from the Helly Hansen Water Sports Centre.

Other water based activities include sailing and windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking, open water swimming, power boating and disability watersports.
