Rosa Luxemburg
Politikerin (SPD, KPD)

Geboren am 5. März 1871 in Zamosc (Polen);
ermordet am 15. Januar 1919 in Berlin

Since November 2006, the former "Alte-Menschen-Garten" has officially been called "Rosa-Luxemburg-Garten".
Until 1913 he had served as the coffee garden of the Eimsbütteler Vereinslokals by Ludwig Hallwachs, which in the 19th century was still called "Sottorfs Tanzsalon". Until a few years ago, the Hamburg-based political artist Gerd Stange had fought for renaming to commemorate this memorial to Rosa Luxemburg, who first appeared in Hamburg on 13 December 1900 and gave her speech on "World Politics and Social Democracy" in the Eimsbütteler Vereinslokal . The "garden piece for Rosa Luxemburg" was redesigned and planted. The small plant with the lilac shrub was designed in front of the cell of the prison of Wronke in the province of Poznan, where Rosa Luxemburg was imprisoned during the First World War. The artist was inspired by the numerous animal and plant descriptions from the letters that Rosa Luxemburg wrote between 1915 and 1918 from the prisons in Wronke and Breslau.
