A small green plaque in front of this Glacial Erractic names the stone as "Onchan Heritage Stone" (and in Manx Gaelic - "Clagh Eiraght Kiondroghad).
To the right of the Glacial Erratic is another plaque which explains that "The large stone beside you is a Glacial Boulder [Erratic] carried to the Island probably from Scotland during the Ice Age. It was found on what is now the Howstrake Golf Course and in 1922 was utilised as the base of Onchan's War Memorial."
The plaque then goes on to explain that: "In 1986 to commemorate both Manx Heritage Year and the reuniting of Onchan Parish and Village District the Stone was place on this site."
The name of the area 'Lazy Corner' is derived from the fact that horses pulling carts would go slack or 'lazy' once they reached the top of Summerhill Road.
