The St. Charles Municipal Building was completed in 1940. The building was designed by R. Harold Zook and D. Coder Taylor in a Art Moderne style. The building is constructed on a black granite base with most of the building constructed of white Georgian marble. The building features an 84-foot tall octagon tower with stained glass windows and pierced grillwork. The building continues to serve as the seat of the municipal government for St. Charles.
