To locate marker from Mesa Arizona, drive north on Power Rd. to Lower Salt River Recreation Area. Power Rd. turns into Bush Highway in the recreation area. Driving east on Bush Highway, pass the Usery Road intersection and continue past the intersection for 1.8 miles then turn right into the Bulldog Canyon parking area. At a locked gate, Forest Service Road 10 (FS10) continues south along Bulldog Canyon.
A combination for the lock at the gate can be obtained from the Tonto National Forest Mesa Ranger Station at 5140 E. Ingram St. Mesa, AZ. The 1st mile of the rough, rocky dirt road can be handled by most vehicles in good weather. You also have the option of hiking the approximately 1 mile south from the gate to the marker.
I parked at a pull off in front of a closed road and hiked cross country SW approximately 1,100 feet to the marker.
The marker is on the west side of a large sandy wash just east of a rocky hill. There is a cairn of rocks at the marker.
