This current station is built on an 'abutment' for the train line approach from the north.
This station was built in 1932 to coincide with the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and much of the area south of the train station was the work shops for the workmen building the bridge.
The earlier [1893] North Shore line station for Milsons Point was closer to the Harbour, as ferry was the ONLY way to easily get from the north into Circular Quay, Sydney.
The current station was opened on 19 March, 1932.
Access to the platform is either by several flights of stairs, or by lift.
Very limited parking nearby, and it mostly limited to 2 hours paid parking on the nearby street. To get to and from the station, there are taxis, buses and ferries.
Toilets, and payphones are available here.
