Ernesto "Che" Guevara (June 14, 1928 – October 9, 1967) was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, his stylized visage has become a ubiquitous countercultural symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture.

The Cultural Center is located in the first home occupied by El Che in 1959, when Fidel Castro ordered him to advance towards Santa Clara and occupy the area of La Cabaña in Havana.

This was the first home where El Che slept. When he arrived to this area, he took over the Headquarters of La Cabaña, working there and then resting and meeting with people at this home. The office where he used to meet the most important dignitaries is still preserved. It is here that most of the essential aspects of the Revolución were discussed.

In the room, inedit photographs are exhibited, with people as important as Fidel Castro, Alberto Castellanos, Olo Pantoja, or Ramiro Valdés.

The house is open to visits and includes: portal, reception, work office, photographic exhibition, painting room, workshop, chess room with exposed boards and a picture of El Che participating in a tournament "Capablanca in Memoriam", reading room, protocol room for conferences and screenings, exhibition hall on matte drink, cafeteria and souvenir shop.

There are several ways of getting here: You can take the buses P8, P11, or P15, and get down in the first stop after the tunnel. You can also get a taxi. A third option could be taking the ferry “Casablanca” departing from the Avenida Carlos Manuel Céspede in Old Havana.
