The extensions added classroom space and also a new sports hall to the School buildings.

In his Election Manifesto in the 2001 General Election Steve Rodan MHK said "Laxey’s recent extensions have created excellent new facilities, and relieved previous overcrowding. But, as Minister, Steve Rodan is acutely aware of the need to plan for the longer term against future pressure on the school from growing pupil numbers and worsening traffic congestion."

In The Laxey and Lonan Area Plan Order 2005 it was noted that: "The School is very well attended to the effect that despite the School having been extended, the School has more or less reached its limit in terms of pupil capacity."
