Resting atop a 2' tall base constructed from local field stone, this lovely handcrafted sundial measures approximately 3' across. The hand-inscribed and carved face is also fashioned from local field stone. I don't know much about sundials, but I can tell you that on the day we were there, it was pretty accurate at reading the time. This sundial was crafted sometime between 1933 and 1942, during the construction of the park by Civilian Conservation Corps personnel. All-in-all, as sundials go, she's a beauty!!!
Sundial Type: Horizontal - Flat base, Ground or Pedestal mounted dial plate
