Reference mark MUNSON NO 1 is located about 9 miles SW of Currant, Nevada, at the junction of U.S. Hwy. 6 and NV Hwy 379. The cap is set on a square concrete monument about 42 feet SE of highway centerline. The cap was set by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey in 1939 and was marked MUNSON NO 1.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1984 RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION, NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS. 24.1 KM (15.05 MI) SOUTHWEST ALONG US HIGHWAY 6 FROM ITS JUNCTION WITH STATE HIGHWAY 379 AT CURRANT, AT THE T JUNCTION OF A GRAVEL ROAD LEADING NORTHWEST, 0.15 KM (0.1 MI) NORTHEAST OF MILEPOST 103, 26.6 METERS (87.5 FT) SOUTHEAST OF THE HIGHWAY CENTERLINE, 12.8 METERS (42 FT) NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER OF THE OLD HIGHWAY AND 10.3 METERS (34 FT) NORTHEAST OF THE EXTENDED CENTER OF THE GRAVEL ROAD. THE MARK IS 0.6 METERS SW FROM A WITNESS POST. THE MARK IS 0.3 M BELOW THE HIGHWAY.
