Châtelet is a station on lines 1, 4, 7, 11 and 14 of the Paris Métro in the heart of the Paris. This Métro station entrance was designed by Hector Guimard in 1901. The Art Nouveau design features a rounded canopy with a double reverse slope. The canopy is supported by three pillars, two in front and one in the center towards the rear. The general appearance of this type station has been given the nickname -dragonfly.
Châtelet is connected by a long underground corridor to the southern end of the RER station Châtelet – Les Halles. Châtelet is the ninth busiest station on the Paris Métro system.
The Châtalet Métro station was rebuilt in 2000 from the original molds to restore the design of Hector Guimard.
