This is the sixth corn planter we've encountered here, but it won't be the last.

Someone had managed to gather together about 60 farm implements and wagons and has decided to put them on display. The vast majority of the farm implements are very old horse drawn machines. The collection includes plows, cultivators, harrows, discs, mowers, corn planters, farm wagons, potato diggers and planters, a hay loader, a manure spreader and two road graders. The display is immediately north of the highway and appears to be accessible 24/7/365, at no charge.
This planter is very similar to another in the collection, which we feel must be a John Deere, so we must figure the same thing for this one. The problem with most of the corn planters here is that they're missing the lids from the corn canisters and that's where John Deere chose to put their mark. I would venture a guess that most of those lids are hanging on the wall of some farm collector.
Given the wide row spacing on all these planters they must have been intended for dry land farming. I expect irrigated corn crops would have substantially less space between rows. Like the others, this planter seems to be pretty much complete, except for the lack of lids.
Check out the seriously long tongue on this one.
