About as old as they come, we're surprised that this mostly wood manure spreader hasn't yet turned to dust.

Someone had managed to gather together about 60 farm implements and wagons and has decided to put them on display. The vast majority of the farm implements are very old horse drawn machines. The collection includes plows, cultivators, harrows, discs, mowers, corn planters, farm wagons, potato diggers and planters, a hay loader, a manure spreader and two road graders. The display is immediately north of the highway and appears to be accessible 24/7/365, at no charge.
We have seen older manure spreaders, but they easily could be counted on the hand of a clumsy carpenter. The only maker's mark we found on this s#*t spreader were the words David Bradley on one of the larger drive sprockets. The Model 70 was the most common David Bradley product of the prewar era, of which this may be one.
David Bradley began manufacturing manure spreaders as early as the 1890s. The David Bradley Company merged with Sears and Roebuck in 1910 but continued in production, under the David Bradley name. This example has a wide spread beater, meaning that it is post 1912. The wooden sides and floor appear to have been used up to at least World War II. If this is a Model 70, then it is post mid-1930s, as that was when the model was introduced. There is a good chance, however, that this is an earlier model.
