The parking area opposite the Manx Electric Railway's Dhoon Glen Halt on the A2, 'Ramsey Coast Road' is where the former Dhoon Glen Hotel used to stand.
The ruins are in the trees behind the parking area are of moss cover stone built buildings.
In 1874 James Quilleash began to develop Dhoon Glen for tourism and by 1877 he was advertising refreshment rooms and stabling, at the Glen. In 1891 he held a licence for the Dhoon Waterfall Inn.

William Bailie was also interested in developing the glen at this period and there was a fierce rivalry between he and Quilleash one dispute going to court.
It was Bailie however, who seems to have come out on top, as in 1899 he spent a large amount of money erecting a hotel (The Dhoon Glen Hotel) on the site that is now the car park. The hotel had a frontage of 116 ft, the bar was 52 ft long and there was a dining room measuring 54 ft by 20 ft.
The hotel was destroyed by fire on Sunday 3rd April 1932 whilst the licensee was out.
Ramsey Fire Brigade arrived as quickly as it was possible in those days, but its all-wood construction, coupled with the difficulty of getting water up from the stream, hampered their efforts to save it.
