These Flora and Fauna signs are located in an interpretive kiosk at the Bristlecone-Alpine Lakes Trailhead at the upper end of the Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive. The signs describe the five vertical life zones encountered as you travel from the Park Visitor Center in Baker, NV (5300 feet) to the summit of Wheeler Peak (13,063 feet). One sign discusses the life zone and the typical flora of the zone and the other sign discusses the typical fauna found in each life zone.
