A Westside institution, Lawrence Books started around the corner about forty years ago. When the Nightingale Pharmacy closed the owner moved two blocks down to Forty-first Avenue to fill this store with thousands of books.
This is kind of bookstore where you often have to step over boxes of books that have yet to be unpacked, sorted, and put on a shelf. It's also the type of bookshop that you can find the oddity that may have eluded you for years.
