Jane Hebert Long (1798-1880) Widow of Dr. James Long. Known as "The Mother of Texas", reportedly giving birth to the first Anglo child in Texas. Operated a hotel in Brazoria which became a center of political activity. Operated a boarding house in Richmond.

Hilmar G. Moore (1920-2012) Served as Mayor of Richmond, TX, for 63 years.

John M. Moore (1862-1940) Member of the Texas House of Representatives in 1896. US House of Representatives, 1905 to 1913.
