FRLa rivière de la Sorgue a compté jusqu’à 62 moulins qui servaient à produire

  • de la farine,
  • de la garance
  • de la soie
  • du blé,
  • de l’huile,
  • des plâtres. 
La roue de la Garancine au Thor, était exploitée pour la garance, colorant du tissus des uniformes militaires rendus tristement célèbres durant le première guerre mondiale. Ces couleurs rendaient les soldats visibles de loin.

The wheel of the Thor Garancine was exploited for madder, coloring fabrics of military uniforms made sadly famous during the First World War. These colors made the soldiers visible from afar.
