This Stone is one of a series of hexagonal Millennium Stones placed in the towns, villages and parishes of the Isle of Man to mark the millennium.

Maughold is a small hamlet which boasts one of the oldest churches on the Island which was founded in approximately 450 A.D. by Saint Maughold, who was expelled from Ireland by Saint Patrick and later became Bishop of Sodor and Man.
