"Snorting Lizzie" was constructed in the early 1900's as a traction engine by Ransomes Sims & Jefferies in Ipswich, England. It was brought to Western Australia by the State Government to be used in land clearing, but the 12 ton weight caused it to get bogged in the wet winters and set fire to the forest in summer. The engine was purchased by W Shepherdson in 1915 and used as a stationary engine at the Wilga Mill until fitted with a pair of driving wheels from an R Class loco to replace the road wheels. The engine was used successfully til 1928 hauling log trains to the mill and as a shunting engine around the mill up until 1945 when consigned to the scrap heap, where it remained before being saved in 1984 and put on display at the Timber and Heritage Park in Manjimup
