Located in front of Talent Elementary School is a large cottonwood tree which contains a plaque at its base that reads:
PLANTED IN HONOR OF
WWI VETERANS
1920
After doing some research online I determined that the site where the current elementary school resides was once the site of Talent High School. This war memorial tree was obviously planted to honor the local high school alumni who served their country during the Great War.
