Although FindAGrave (link below) only lists 50 records for this Cherokee Nation cemetery, the cemetery description states that there are about 70 graves, and that there are simply 20 missing records. Indeed, due to occasional flooding of nearby Coon Creek, there may be missing grave markers altogether.
The oldest recorded grave is from 1875, and the latest was from 1984. There is at least one centenarian here. Since the native Americans did not originally bury their dead with grave markers like these, we can assume that this became custom after Christianity came to the tribes.
