Either Mrs. Carroll was also "J.P. Carroll," or the cultural chauvinism at the time simply reduced her to being "Mrs. J.P. Carroll" on her headstone. In any event, as this is a Woodmen of the World headstone, Mr. Carroll was the member, and the inscription is:
