While Cape Byron is advertised 'everywhere' as "Australia's most Easterly Point", you will have to walk from your car to see that! And even then it is at sea level, and usually awash, so not directly accessible.
The viewing platform is accessible by a steepish ramp/road behind the lighthouse. But if you are in a wheelchair you may want some assistance. From the Wikipedia article for the Cape Byron Light, there could 500,000 visitors to the viewing platform each year.

From the Wikipedia article: Cape Byron
"The cape was named by British explorer Captain James Cook, when he passed the area on 15 May 1770, to honour British explorer John Byron who circumnavigated the globe in HMS Dolphin from 1764 to 1766."
I visited at 0740 (14 June 2016) just as a rain squall had finished, and the area soon packed out with joggers and tourists.
