The "Zinnschmelze" and the brick chimney in Hamburg-Barmbek-Nord is a listed, former factory building, which is part of the Museum der Arbeit and is regarded as an example for a maritime-dependent industry.
Under the address Maurienstraße 19, in Hamburg-Barmbek-Nord, on the site of the former New York Hamburger Gummi-Waaren Compagnie and the today's Museum of Work, is the monument-protected building of a former melting plant for tin. Together with the boiler house, it is part of the annexes of the extension from 1883, which are still regarded as "important buildings illustrating the production process". Here mainly metal molds were made for hard rubber products.
