The Fire and Rescue Station for Kempsey is on the western side of 'town'.
As this is not a volunteer station, it is under the auspices of Fire & Rescue NSW. There is a long single-storey building beside the Station, for the training of fire fighters in Fire, Rescue, and Hazmat (Hazardous Materials Handling).
It has a typical wooden pole with a pulley to hoist the used fire hoses to drain after being used. However there is a purpose built training tower to the side of the garage of the fire vehicles, to train and test the abilities of the fire fighters.
