In 1928, this culvert was designed to carry the load of steam-driven locomotives. In 2017, the culvert now supports fitness buffs, dog walkers, horses and snowmobiles.

The Montreal & Ottawa Railway opened in 1898. After becoming part of the CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway) network, this railroad was known as the M&O sub-division. The 1920s were a busy time for infrastructure upgrades, including culvert construction. The last train went through in 1986 when VIA Rail still used this rail bed for passenger rail service.

The M&O sub measures 91 miles from Vaudreuil to Ottawa. This culvert was at milepost 77. That information may help you find the nearby mystery geocache.
Year built or dedicated as indicated on the structure or plaque: 1928
