Tynwald Hill at St. Johns is the traditional ancient meeting place of the Manx parliamentary assembly, dating back to at least the first millennium AD.
Tynwald Hill is a circular tiered man-made mound topped by a white flag pole. The Replica is made of stone and concrete and is topped by a celtic style cross.
The circular plinth of the Replica has 5 teirs and on the fourth tier is a red plaque in scribed:

Millennium
This inscription is surrounded by a laurel leaf design.
Mounted on the front of the cross is another plaque which reads as follows:
