This memorial has a yellow sandstone square base surmounted by square double plinth, shaft and Celtic Cross with two dedicatory bronze plaques set into front face of plinth with inscription in relief.

About the memorial:One of two parish memorials in this village, the other being at the church. Memorial set in a yellow sandstone plinth with a Celtic cros at the top. There are two bronze plaques towards the base and the right side panel has been carved at a later date to commemorate WW2. The memorial was unveiled on 06 April 1921 by Lieutenant Governor Major-General Sir William Fry, K.C.V.O., C.B. Isle of Man National Inventory of War Memorials: IOM_NIWM_BAL_00002
Of the two WWI plaques the upper plaque simple reads:
LEST WE FORGET
whilst the lower plaque reads:
THANKS BE TO GOD WHO GIVETH US THE VICTORY
IN HONOURED MEMORY OF THOSE FROM
THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
FOR THEIR COUNTRY AND IN GRATITUDE
TO THOSE WHO FOUGHT OR IN ANY WAY
HELPED IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918
THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED BY THE
INHABITANTS OF BALLAUGH 1920
The WWII plaque is on the right hand side of the memorial when facing the WWI plaques and reads as follows:
