The memorial is facing the road at the corner of Stocks Lane and Great Horton Road.

The memorial was erected after World War I and is on a square base surmounted by plinth and cross with a carved sword on the cross. It has an incised inscription on three sides of the plinth in black lettering.

After World War II a small commemorative stone was placed at the base of the original memorial.
