This building is now occupied by a private business and has been "Muralled", as it were. The mural wraps around the two most visible sides of the building and creates a virtual peek into life in the central Okanagan in years gone by. It depicts the long time major industry, orcharding, or fruit growing, as well as the second most important industry of the area, lumbering. Included in the mural are views of the Okanagan and Okanagan Lake. We just wish we had found the artist's signature here.
The visitor centre has only moved across the parking lot. A brilliant example of multipurpose is the fact that the Westbank Visitors' Centre is also in the
Westbank Museum, sort of like one stop shopping for knowledge of both the past and the present of Westbank.
In the museum are many artefacts portraying day to day life as it would have been in the days of the area's settlers in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Further displays indicate advancements in technology through the years which made life a little easier as time marched inexorably on.
