The clock tower is a four-sided structure with a clock face on each side. The dials show the hours in Roman numerals. The tower was officially inaugurated on September 15, 1910. It was built to celebrate the first 100 years of the beginning of the struggle for the Independence of Mexico and since then, it constitutes a symbol of the city.
