Painted from a picture taken by Basil Clemons. It is a view of the businesses along the North side of Walker Street looking East from about the National Theater toward the courthouse.
At the time the picture was taken the 1883 Courthouse with its tower was still in place. Cars are parked in the middle of the street as well as along the sidewalk.
In the bottom right corner there is a horse drawn wagon.
