10 May 1901 Born – son of Lt Col Sir Richard Martin KCB KCMG and Lady Martin of Claydon, Ipswich, Suffolk.
Sep 1914 - Wellington College, Berkshire to 1919
10 Jan 1919 - Entered Royal Military College, Sandhurst
14 July 1921 - Passed out from RMC, 58th in order of merit. Commissioned into the Royal Welch Fusiliers
21 July 1921 - Joined 2 RWF in Ireland
June 1924 - Won 440 yards in Army Individual athletics at Woolwich.
25 June 1924 - Represented Army in inter-service athletics
18 Feb 1926 - Adjutant 2 RWF to 18 July 1927 – date of death
18 July 1927 - Killed in motor-cycle accident at Bingen, Germany.
26 July 1927 - Funeral and burial at Hemingstone Church, Ipswich.
