[EN] The real name of this chapel is the Chapelle Sainte Radegonde, it is halfway between Verrieres and Bouresse and was once a place of pilgrimage.
It was built in 1827 to house the "Pas" of Saint Radegonde. There was a temple or sanctuary in the Gallo-Roman period. The rock in which the supposed footprint of the Saint is present measures 80cm by 40cm and has been made brilliant by the repeated rubbings of the pilgrims.
Radegonde was born in 518 and was forced to marry King Clotaire I in 540 after he took her away. Following various events, she decided to flee and was consecrated by Saint Medard. She finally settled in Poitiers where she founded a convent.
She died in 587.
[FR] Le vrai nom de cette chapelle est la Chapelle Sainte Radegonde, elle se situe à mi-chemin entre Verrières et Bouresse et était autrefois un lieu de pèlerinage.
Elle a été construite en 1827 afin d'abriter le "Pas" de Sainte Radegonde. Il y avait à cet endroit à l'époque gallo-romaine un temple ou un sanctuaire. La roche dans laquelle est présente la prétendue empreinte de la Sainte mesure 80cm sur 40cm et a été rendue brillante par les frottements répétés des pèlerins.
Radegonde est née en 518 et fut contrainte d'épouser le roi Clotaire 1er en 540 après qu'il l'ait fait enlevée. Suite à divers évènements elle décida de s'enfuire et se fit consacrer par Saint Médard. Elle finit par s'installer à Poitiers où elle fonda un couvent.
Elle mourut en 587.
