"The Studiobühne Siegburg was founded by Wolf Bongôrt von Roy in 1998 and opened with Bertholt Becht's "Mr. Puntila and his servant Matti". It still captivates today through its construction and the resulting proximity of performers and spectators. The cozy ambience with its red cinemas and its refreshing, varied program is an unthinkable cultural center of Siegburg and the Rhine-Siegkreis.
In 2004 the non-profit association "Theaterschatz e.V." took over the private stage, which according to the staging offers up to 80 spectators. Since this takeover, the studios have been run by René Böttcher and Maike Mielewski.
The Studiobühne is located in the center of the district town Siegburg and is housed in a house with the Siegburg music school, the evening gymnasium and the VHS Rhein-Sieg.
More than 100 performances a year
During the 2014/2015 season, the studios will present more than 100 performances. In addition to his own productions, such as "Antigone" by Sophokles, "Art" by Yasmina Reza and "Love Jogging" by Derek Benfield, the studios have been participating in the literary weeks of the city of Siegburg since 2014. The stage is played by professionals, as well as by students of the drama school, since it is at the same time an educational theater in the same place as the private drama school Siegburg."
