Der Flughafen Düsseldorf ist der drittgrößte Flughafen Deutschlands. Der Flughafen liegt unmittelbar am nördlichen Siedlungsrand der Landeshauptstadt, in kurzer Distanz zur Messe Düsseldorf, im Stadtteil Lohausen.
Der Flughafen besitzt zwei parallele Start- und Landebahnen. Die südliche gelegene Hauptbahn hat eine Länge von 3000 m, die nördlich gelegene Ersatzbahn ist 2700 m lang. Beide Bahnen sind 45 m breit und haben einen Abstand von 500 m.
Für die Flugzeuge stehen 107 Abstellpositionen zur Verfügung.
Mit einer Höhe von 87 Metern verfügt der Flughafen über den höchsten Kontroll-Tower Deutschlands.
